About Us -

This is a world where fantasy and technology have co-existed into the modern day. There’s no secret about any of it, no veil that hides magic or monsters, it is all simply a fact of life. The same goes for the various peoples - Humans are only one part of a greater whole and only fringe groups that society largely dismisses as such make any big deal of it. The old divides were largely replaced by the concepts of nationality - nations largely exist as they have but contain what used to be cultures of yesteryear.

But on that same note, some of the problems of the past still persist. There are still those who want to summon some terrible thing locked away eons ago in a dimensional plane. There are still occasions where monsters make themselves known and have to be dealt with. Mad mages seeking power, dragons embattled in wars long since forgotten by the rest of the world, these things and more still exist and still require resolving. Most of the time, these matters are resolved by government agencies - a special law enforcement branch or military unit for example. But the practice of “adventurers” is still around - individuals who (willingly or not) are drawn to these events to (hopefully) resolve them. Again, these are all just facts of life - a video of a cat doing something amusing is likely to get just as many views on social media as two dragons fighting.

This is the frame in which we are set.

Welcome now to Grace Point, a sprawling coastal city. For the most part, its denizens go about their lives for better or worse. But what makes it a little bit different here is the city has always had a history of attracting more than its fair share of problems. On the surface, it’s things like an over-extended and under-funded police force, half the city’s elected officials are in the pocket of a corporation or old money and the other half are the corporations or old money. But every once in a while, something big happens and gets covered up…

Because GPD is stretched far past its breaking point, it’s no surprise that private security has become a major player. Corporate security and private military contractors tend to be a common sight around the big money in Grace Point, but it’s also given rise to smaller groups who act as troubleshooters for those who can’t afford a PMC. It’s also given rise to criminal gangs and organizations thought to be a thing of the past in big cities like this, as well.

We focus on one such group of troubleshooters - people with the skills they’ve developed in whatever previous line of work to help out and make Grace Point less miserable than it currently is. It may be something small like helping a family that ran afoul of a criminal group for no other reason than they were in the wrong place at the wrong time to big jobs that could be dealing with someone who has goals far beyond this mortal realm.

Time to go to work.

Interrogation of the survivors at the Drake Garden shootout yielded barely anything. They were a small time cult, just as Asa had confirmed. Some ritual was being performed here but went sideways and they were waiting for their Dark Mistress to get back to them about what the next move…

Dorian stepped off the public transport, such as it was, at an inconvenient distance from his destination. He'd had to give up his car as well as his high-rise corporate apartment after he was fired. Not just because of the payments, but the tiny apartment he'd moved to charged almost…

Finding the place wasn't hard at all. Drake Garden Projects was like any other overdeveloped city housing project - concrete towers full of misery and broken dreams and vaguely Soviet in design. It was the kind of place that some would spend all their lives trying to get out of…

It'd been about a week since the team, such as it was, had come together. An effort went to trying to spruce up the place, but there was only so much that could be done on a limited budget. The front area was as much as an office as it…

Mission: Welcome To The Jungle

It had been a while wandering on the streets until she found the Help Wanted poster. Asa had almost not read it, but something stopped her. The spirits maybe? She didn't know. The poster was rolled up in her haversack right now though as she plodded slowly towards the location.…
